The Porter Foundation prioritizes support for efforts that provide K-12 education, social services and medical and palliative care. Programs or projects of particular interest are those focused on improving the quality of education, meeting basic humanitarian needs, and ensuring compassionate care for the elderly.

The majority of grants from the Foundation are one year in duration. In compelling circumstances, the Foundation is willing to consider multi-year commitments on a case by case basis.
